Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an unscheduled trip to Vancouver to attend Pride on Sunday but did not attend the annual parade downtown.
Before the event officially began, Trudeau walked a block in the city’s west end.
The Prime Minister stopped to shake hands and take photos with people taking part in the march.
Chants of “Free Palestine” could be heard among the marchers, but many seemed happy to see Trudeau.
Trudeau wore a black T-shirt with a rainbow feather on the chest, grey pants and black running shoes.
Thousands of people attend Vancouver’s annual Pride Parade, which features brightly coloured floats, numerous groups and organisations, and joyful people.
