TORONTO (AP) — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extended his streak of games with at least one hit to 21, José Berríos struck out eight in seven innings and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics 3-1 on Friday night.

Mexican Alejandro Kirk scored the deciding run in the sixth inning and Spencer Horwitz hit a solo home run in the eighth to give Toronto some assurance as the Blue Jays won for the third time in four games.

Dominican Guerrero hit a pair of singles. His hitting streak is the longest in the majors.

Guerrero caught Shea Langeliers’ foul fly ball, which stranded two baserunners with the bases loaded in the sixth, and it flew over the netting and landed in the first row of seats behind first base.

Berrios (10-9) allowed one run and six hits. He is 8-2 with a 2.83 ERA in 12 home starts and 2-7 with a 5.29 ERA in 12 road starts.

Chad Green made his 11th save in 11 chances and his ninth.

In the field, Dominican Miguel Andujar was 3-0. Puerto Rican Darrell Hernaiz was 2-for-4 with one run and one run.

For the Blue Jays, Dominican Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 and scored one run. Panamanian Leo Jimenez went 2-0.
