Phnom Penh: On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at noon, His Excellency Sun Chanthol, First Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Development Council of Cambodia, hosted the Hong Kong-co-organized business dinner Penh Phokitra Krom at Sofitel Phnom Penh with the theme of “Great Connections on the Road to New Success: Hong Kong-Cambodia Partnership for Shared Prosperity and Economic Development”.
In his keynote speech, the Deputy Prime Minister warmly welcomed the delegates attending the ceremony, highlighting the positive potential of the Kingdom of Cambodia, including political stability and a stable macroeconomic situation, a dynamic young workforce and a government that is inclined to support business growth, an attractive and conducive investment regime, and an interconnected infrastructure that has developed into a more interconnected unit.
Finally, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister expressed optimism that the invited investors will come to study the achievements and potential investment activities in this field, and bring Cambodia’s current investment environment to the wider business community.
Please note that, with the permission of the Prime Minister, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, His Excellency Mr. John Lee, also took the opportunity to witness the Business Dinner. A total of 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between various ministries, agencies and the private sector, covering cooperation, investment, trade, infrastructure, education, finance, connectivity and civil aviation.
