Forward John Venegas made his debut Wednesday night at the Guanacaste Sports Association.
He did that in a 3-1 win over Saprissa and he made a powerful statement after the game.
“It’s positive that the team is on equal footing against the four-time champions. We saw good things. In the match, the fouls were very similar between the two teams and the balance always tipped towards Saprissa. I’m not asking that they didn’t give us anything, it’s just that they were equal and today (Wednesday) they cancelled the first goal and hurt us, which was complicated,” The Gunners announced in the mixed zone at the National Stadium.
Message to the Assistant Directors-General and Leadership Team
Speaking about what Guanacasteca has been through in the leadership field, he said: “Something has to be organised at the club, there is some chaos and I have to make it public because we need a good working environment and to be able to do our job in the best way possible.”
John hopes Bolivian coach Mauricio Soria will remain at the club: “I told the chairman it would be a huge mistake if the coach left, he is a man with a lot of experience, he does a good job and teaches the youngsters a lot.
“I hope the president will do his part to keep this project moving forward as we envision it,” He concluded.
