Despite the crisis that New Caledonia has been in since the riots of May 13, Palica held its second congress last Saturday in La Foa. The main challenges ahead include the end of the national crisis, the position of CCAT on the front line and even the holding of the next provincial elections.
At a time when calm is returning to the country but uncertainty remains about the future of New Caledonia, what is the future of FLNKS? This was the central question of the Palika congress held last Saturday in La Foa. The second part of the AGM, the first of which took place two weeks ago.

Currently, as far as I know, CCAT is not a political party, but an organization that emerged from the decisions of the Caledonian Alliance.

Another point that requires clarification is that the post of FLNKS president was created at the request of CCAT and will be held by Christian Thein. “This is worth debating because the position of the Front chairman is often discussed”recognized the speaker, and then added that he had “It has been decided to support the Collegiate Chairman.”
Palika also warned against “There is a growing voice around a unilateral declaration of independence (…)”
This is not moving in the direction we want, to build a nation together with everyone. This is a dead end for us. If we allow ourselves to declare unilateral independence, who will recognize us? ?We want a seat at the UN but there are rules to respect that.

The Palika spokesman also recalled the visit of Marie Guévenoux to New Caledonia last week. It was a meeting without stakes, as the tone was set from the outset by the Minister’s representative in charge of the Overseas Territories. “She told us from the beginning that she was part of the government that resigned.Said Jean-Pierre Jaivet. That means we shouldn’t expect too much from him right away.”
Nevertheless, the meeting between the United Group, to which Mary Gwenu and Palika belong, was an opportunity for the separatists to interpret the current crisis.
