The Ngremulengi State Government established the Ngremulengi State Scholarship (NSS) to support young people in the state in achieving their educational goals. This is the 8th year that the Palau National Scholarship Commission has helped administer the scholarship program in accordance with established eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria requires the recipient to be a recent high school graduate/graduate from Ngeremrungi State and have at least one parent who is a registered voter in Ngeremrungi. The student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and must have been accepted into an institution of higher learning. As a recipient of the NSS, the student will receive a one-time award of $1,000.00 at the beginning of the fall semester. Mr. Mayse K. Iyechad has been selected as the recipient of the scholarship for this academic year 2024-2025.
Iyechad is a recent graduate of Belau Modekngei School and is currently pursuing a degree in Culinary-Tourism and Hospitality Management at Palau Community College. PNSB Vice Chairman Joseph Anastacio witnessed the presentation of the scholarship cheque to the winner, Mr. Mayse K. Iyechad, by the Deputy Speaker of the Ngremulungi State House of Representatives, Elvira Franz.
