Israeli strikes in Lebanon kill six fighters and one child, security sources say

Another Israeli attack on the village of Aita, about 14 kilometers north of the Israeli border, killed a Hezbollah fighter and a child, a security source told Reuters. Hezbollah identified the fighter killed in Aita as Mohammad Najim.

The Israeli military said in an online statement that it targeted Najim in Eita because he was a member of Hezbollah’s rocket and missile unit. It also said it struck two other Hezbollah fighters in the south.

The statement said “several projectiles fired from Lebanese territory” had entered northern Israel but caused no casualties.

Hezbollah’s press office said the group fired rockets and artillery fire at Israeli military positions throughout the day.

More than 600 people in Lebanon According to Reuters, 70 people have been killed since the conflict broke out in October last year, including more than 400 Hezbollah fighters and more than 130 civilians.
