The Palestinian Water Authority and human rights groups have documented the deliberate destruction by the Israeli occupation of more than 700 wells in the Gaza Strip, on which 90 percent of the region’s population depends.
The Palestinian Water Company confirmed that more than 2 million Palestinians, most of whom are displaced, are suffering from extreme thirst as a result of the destruction of wells by the occupation forces and the depletion of fuel for the remaining wells and pumps.
The municipalities in the Gaza Strip announced that they had completely stopped supplying water to residents for several months due to the exhaustion of fuel and the destruction of more than 80% of the water supply network by the occupiers through bulldozing and other bombings, stressing that the water situation is catastrophic.
