Israel announced that it would launch an operation in an area previously declared a “safe zone” in the Gaza Strip following repeated attacks since October 7, and demanded that the Palestinians withdraw from the area immediately.
Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adrai said in a statement on social media that Gaza would launch an operation in an area east of Khan Yunus that had been previously declared a safe zone, and called on residents to leave the area.
Adly warned that Israel would attack parts of the security zone by shrinking it and demanded that the Palestinians immediately and temporarily leave Mewasi.
Adly also issued a statement on July 1 calling for the immediate release of Palestinian territory east of Khan Yunus and the establishment of a “safe zone.”
On July 13, the Israeli army launched an attack in the Al-Mewasi district west of Khan Yunus in the Gaza Strip, killing 90 Palestinians, half of whom were women and children. The area had been declared a safe zone.
