Kuwait City, August 12: Iraqi authorities handed over a Gulf national wanted in connection with a terrorist case to Kuwait. A reliable source in the security sector told the daily that the suspect was reportedly arrested at Abdullah border; clarifying that the suspect was not arrested at the border but was handed over to Kuwaiti authorities based on an extradition request sent earlier by Kuwait to Iraq.
The source further explained that Kuwait had previously sent a request for the extradition of the suspect through Interpol because the Kuwaiti authorities received a telegram from the Iraqi authorities regarding the arrest of the suspect. The source said that the suspect will serve his sentence in Kuwait; then he will be extradited to his country where he was convicted in 2011 in a terrorism-related case.
