Bagheri Kani told reporters after voting in the Iranian capital on Friday that Iran has made it more convenient than ever for Iranians to participate in overseas elections.
However, he added that many Iranians faced obstacles in taking part in elections in some European and Western countries last Friday.
The official said voters in so-called democracies face various forms of violence from extremists who orchestrate an unjust environment.
He further stated that the government had failed to protect the electoral rights of the Iranian people.
He stressed that Canada considers itself a defender of human rights, but it opposes important rights of Iranians participating in the 14th presidential election.
He said the country recently included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the list of terrorist organizations to prove its alliance with Zionists and terrorists.
On May 19, a helicopter crash occurred in northwestern Iran, killing President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage. Subsequently, Iran’s early election was held on June 28.
The second round of Iran’s presidential election kicked off on Friday morning in 138 offices across the country and abroad.
There were four candidates in the early election. Masoud Pezeshkian and Seyed Jalili won more votes than the other candidates. Since no candidate could get a majority to become the president of Iran, the runoff election was scheduled for a week later.
