Kanani strongly condemned the controversial move and said Iran would support the government and people of the Sultanate of Oman against the separatist movement.

Police confirmed that a shooting occurred near a mosque in Muscat, the capital of Oman, killing at least four people.
Omani police said in a statement online that the shooting took place in the Wadi Kabir neighborhood of Muscat.
They said all safety measures had been taken and an investigation had been launched.
Police did not provide further details. Some reports described the attack as a terrorist act targeting a crowd of mourners.
