Ipswich Town have signed Championship side Sunderland striker Jack Clarke on a five-year contract, the newly promoted Premier League club announced late on Saturday.
Neither club revealed specific details of the transfer, but British media reported that Ipswich paid Sunderland £15 million ($19.8 million) for the 23-year-old.
Clarke made 114 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 28 goals. He initially joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Sunderland permanently in 2022.
Clarke is the 10th player signed by Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna in the off-season.
“Kieran McKenna really sold the club and where it has come from and what they are still trying to achieve and you would be almost foolish not to accept where things are now,” Clarke said in a statement.
Ipswich lost 1-4 to Manchester City on Saturday and lost 0-2 to Liverpool in their league opener. They will face Fulham in the Premier League on August 31.
