On December 2, 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 64/35, declaring August 29 as the International Day against Nuclear Tests. The resolution was initiated by the Republic of Kazakhstan to commemorate the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site on August 29, 1991. The ultimate goal of the UN resolution is to raise awareness of the need to ban nuclear weapon testing and work towards a safer world. In this video, review some data on nuclear testing since 1945.
