Baku, Azerbaijan, August 3. In an exclusive interview, Marco Beretta, President of the Italian-Kazakhstan Trade Association (ACIK), said that new prospects for cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan include expanding cooperation in the creative industries, tourism and environmental sustainability trend.
“New prospects for cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan include expanding cooperation in the creative industries, tourism and environmental sustainability. In addition, areas such as healthcare, technology and education offer important opportunities for cooperation. Italy’s interest in these areas stems from the potential for common growth and the opportunity to use Italian technological and industrial strengths to support Kazakhstan’s development goals,” he said.
According to Beretta, ACIK brings together companies from various sectors to discuss potential investment areas with Italian companies.
“I think all this can bring benefits to both sides. For this purpose, we have developed a special project called ‘Road to Kazakhstan’; a brand-specific truck that will travel through Italian cities to introduce companies located in various regions of Italy to the great opportunities and natural beauty of Kazakhstan,” he noted.
At the same time, trade between Kazakhstan and Italy amounted to $8.2 billion in January-May 2024. This is a year-on-year increase of 21% ($6.7 billion).
Meanwhile, exports to Italy dominated trade volume, reaching $7.7 billion, up 22.4% from January to May 2023. Imports from Italy rose 2.5% over the same period, totaling $505 million. In January to May 2023, imports totaled $492.8 million.
