Although the Northern Lights appear mainly in polar latitudes, close to the magnetic poles, this year this spectacular sight in the sky will also delight Lithuanian weather enthusiasts.
In our country, such beautiful scenery can also be seen during moderate to strong geomagnetic storms.
Last night, it seemed like the whole of Lithuania was enjoying the Northern Lights. Her photos were taken in Šiauliai, Prine, Utena, Kretinga, Plange, Radviliškis. District and Panevěžs. This mesmerizing celestial phenomenon stretched across a large area of the sky in many places and glowed in different colors.
Asta Lukošiūtė-Milerienė, a nature photographer from Panevėžys, captured the stunning view from the window of her apartment on Prekybos Street, on the fourth floor.
“The peak was between 0:15 and 0:30. It was so bright that it could be seen with the naked eye without any equipment. Then it glowed again around 1:30 a.m., but not as bright,” Ashtar said.
This is not the first time the photographer has “captured” the aurora borealis. A woman from Panevěžské Štěch admired the northern lights from her apartment window in March and May.
“The month that stands out the most is May. Then, you don’t even need a camera, all the beauty can be seen with the naked eye,” said the woman from Panevėžys.
