In the presence of representatives of the Film Industry Association, the Film Industry Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Art Associations, and the Cultural Film Asset Management Company, the Egyptian-Chinese Film and Television Works Creation Business Symposium was held this Friday evening. The meeting was jointly promoted by the Egyptian Chinese Businessmen Association, the China Television Artists Association, and the Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Association, and was specially supported by the Arabic version of the magazine “China Today”. The Egyptian-Chinese TV and film production business seminar was held at a major hotel in the fifth settlement, with the Egyptian side represented by a large number of experts from the TV and film industries. The meeting was attended by the great director Omar Abdul Aziz, Dr. Khalid Abdul Jalil, Chairman of the Art Syndicate Union, Head of Artistic Works Review and Managing Director of the Cultural and Film Asset Management Company, Dr. Mahmoud Shehab, Professor, Media Marketing and Technology Advisor of the Art Syndicate Union, and Osama Al-Sheikh, Dean of the School of Film and Media Arts and media expert.
Hisham Abdel Kalek, vice president of the Egyptian Film Industry Chamber and a famous producer, said that Chinese films have an important influence on the international stage, and by holding the China-Egypt Film Week in Egypt and China, the door to extensive cooperation will be opened. The equipment of Egyptian theaters, starting with the projector seats currently manufactured in China, is enough to illustrate the importance of the exchange of experience between the two sides. Fan Zhongzhai, vice chairman of the China Television Artists Association, delivered a speech, introducing the role played by television works in promoting friendly relations between Egyptian and Chinese audiences. He hoped that this seminar and other art activities of China would strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
Chinese Cultural Advisor and Executive Director of the Egypt-China Friendship Association delivered a speech, in which he emphasized the outstanding role of art, especially television works, in creating a harmonious space among people of all countries, especially those with similar ancient civilization backgrounds. The Arabic version of the documentary “China” was screened at the conference.
The first one was titled “The Creativity of Egyptian-Chinese TV Works”, and the participants were: documentary director Li Dong, artistic director Zhou Tao of Bolin Culture Group, Hussein Ismail, executive director of the Arabic version of “China Today” magazine, and Wang Omar, vice president of the Egyptian Chinese Business Association. It emphasized that visual works are an important window for the rapid and smooth dissemination of culture and civilization. The second work was titled “The Future of Egyptian-Chinese TV Series”, in which Hu Hongliang, vice chairman of the China Television Artists Association, was attended by Ms. Maha Al-Ahmad, director of the Department of Culture and Intercultural Dialogue at the International University of the Arts, Arabic photographer Sameh Selim, and Hisham Abdel Khaleq, the first representative of the Film Industry Association and producer. Prof. Dr. Omaima Ghanem, the Chamber of Film Industries and former Egyptian cultural consultant. Most of the opinions pointed to the necessity of launching technical cooperation between Egypt and China from the perspective of investment, because China has a development success story in the field of television and film in East Hollywood that can benefit.
