In June 2024, Belarusian residents sold foreign currency for $1,004.2 million, down $47.2 million or 4.49% from May. Cash sales amounted to $781.4 million, down $56.8 million or 6.78% from May. Non-cash sales amounted to $222.8 million, up $15.8 million or 7.61%.
So far this year, the Belarusian people have sold $5.8675 billion, including $4.6299 billion in cash and $1.2376 billion in non-cash assets.
In June, people sold currencies by a net $152.4 million in the cash portion of the foreign exchange market and bought them by a net $75.8 million in the non-cash portion.
From January to June 2024, people sold cash currency net of $1,117.2 million, while net purchases of non-cash currency increased to $576.4 million.
