The third and final concert of the ViruLaul24 project took place on Tuesday in Toila, Ida-Virumaa, following performances in Narva and Kohtla-Järve. The concert featured songs by Olav Ehala and Leelo Tungal.

The core singers on the stage of the ViruLaul24 concert, organized by the Estonian Music Council, are the Ida-Virumaa Youth Joint Choir, which was convened specifically for this project.

“This project is worth moving forward. It’s great to see that young people here want to participate – as I heard today, they came to the park after dinner to sing Olav Ehala’s songs. Young people are waiting for this project, and we have to seriously think about how to continue it,” said Hirvo Surva, artistic director and conductor of ViruLaul24.

While the concerts in Narva and Kotla-Järvi were held in the concert hall, on the day of re-independence they sang under the song arch in Toila.

“It was amazing how many people came to yesterday’s concert in Narva, the entire 600-seat hall was almost full,” said Liisi Kauber, a singer with the Ida-Viruma Joint Youth Choir.

We were blessed with good weather for the holiday concert.

“What could be better than spending Independence Day at a concert like this? The wonderful music of Olav Ehala, the beautiful Estonian language of Leelo Tungla, and the accompaniment of an orchestra consisting of eight choirs – I am simply speechless,” said concert visitor Indrek. Laos.

ETV will broadcast a recording of Viru Laulu’s Kohtla-Järve concert this Friday.
