AIB reported on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, that International Monetary Fund (IMF) economist Modeste Yirbehowre Somé has been appointed as the IMF Resident Representative in Cotonou, Benin.
Mr. Somé, who holds a PhD from the University of Montreal and a Diploma in Statistical Engineer-Economist from the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (ISE) in Abidjan, worked at the IMF in countries including Mali and Morocco before being seconded to the Asia and Pacific Department.
