Ghanaian politician and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpalo, has courted controversy for his bold statement on the conditions under which his daughters should be allowed to marry.
In a video shared by @sikaofficial1 on X, Akpalu revealed that he requires any man who wants to marry his daughter to get her pregnant first.
“If you are a man who wants to marry my daughter, you need to make her pregnant before marriage. I don’t want her to face pressure to have a child after marriage. This problem may not be her fault. In fact, I want my daughter to have a child before marriage,” he said.
He stressed that he would not compromise on this condition and would reject any suitor who did not meet this requirement.
He added that having a child before marriage can show a man’s seriousness and commitment to being with his daughter.
