iciHaiti – Cap-Haïtien: Towards a model of economic and social development

In order to make the North Department a model for economic and social development, the Cap-Haïtien Municipal Committee took the initiative to organize an exchange and information meeting with five universities in the North, all of which are renowned for their comprehensive training programs covering all areas related to the management of local authorities.
Discussions focused on establishing a formal partnership between the city of Cap-Haïtien, the Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-Nord) and the universities.
The main goal of this collaboration is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the municipality and CCI-Nord to promote harmonious and sustainable development in the North.
This initiative marks the beginning of a new era of inter-institutional cooperation towards 2030 and beyond. In fact, this cooperation aims to restore a positive and dynamic image of the Northern Department, and Cap-Haïtien in particular. The proposed Memorandum of Understanding is seen as a catalyst for mobilizing the human, academic and economic resources necessary to implement this ambitious project.
