The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a revised schedule for this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup after the ninth edition of the tournament was moved from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates.
The decision to change hosts came as anti-government riots broke out across Bangladesh throughout July and early August, until Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned.
The tournament will be held in October and the group standings remain unchanged, with six-time champions Australia in Group A along with 2020 runners-up India, trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand, and Asian sides Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The West Indies women’s team belongs to Group B and they will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 4, before facing Scotland on October 6, Bangladesh on October 10 and England on October 15.
Each team will play four group matches in this tournament, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi-finals on October 17 and 18, and the final in Dubai on October 20. Alternate match days have been confirmed for the semi-finals and final.
However, if India advances to the semi-finals, they will go into the semi-final match 1. 23 matches will be held at two venues in Dubai and Sharjah.
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka. Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland.
From September 28 to October 1, 10 warm-up matches will be held before the game. The competition will be held from October 3 to 20.

● October 12: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka (7am AST), Bangladesh vs South Africa (10am AST)
● October 13: England vs Scotland (7am AST), India vs Australia (10am AST)
● October 14: Pakistan vs New Zealand (10am AST)
● October 15: England vs West Indies (10am AST)
● October 17: First Semifinal: A1 vs. B2* (10am PST)
● October 18: Second Semifinal: B1 vs. A2* (10am PST)
