The documentary “I Want to Make a Poetic Film with My Brother” will participate in the Crossing Film Festival, which will be held in Varde, Norway from October 24 to 27 next year, and is produced by the Norwegian Jesuit School. Its story revolves around Ahmed, a filmmaker who uses the opportunity of making a film about his home in a village in northern Egypt (which is about to be demolished) to rediscover and build his relationship with his younger brother through their shared memories of the house and village where they were born. This opens a deep wound that tears apart their family’s relationship with the village. The elder brother tries to repair this wound and help his younger brother reconcile with it. Ahmed Al-Kayyar graduated from the 12th class of the Jesuit Film School in Cairo in October 2022. This film is his graduation work at the Jesuit Film School in Cairo.

The 43-minute film had its world premiere during the Ismailia Documentary and Short Film Festival student competition.
