August 13, 2024 will be etched in Botswana’s history as a landmark day of celebration, when the nation sacrifices half a day to honour the Olympic heroes returning from the Paris Olympics.

At least 30,000 fans packed into the national stadium to celebrate Botswana’s extraordinary achievement.

The day was special for Letesile Tebogo, whose 200m gold medal was the first Olympic gold medal won by a local.
