(Dongguan = Edaily Correspondent Lee Myung-cheol) Chinese technology company Huawei has launched a new “TruSense” system that provides and manages health information through wearable devices. It realizes advanced health management by improving the measurement technology of biometric data such as blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation, and plans to launch a new wearable product equipped with the TrueSense system next month.

On the 28th, Huawei held a press conference on “Huawei TrueSense System and Wearable Technology Innovation” at Banyan Tree Songshan Lake in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China, and released the new TrueSense system.

TrueSense is Huawei’s digital service that provides users with accurate and scientific health and fitness technologies.

Huawei entered the wearable device field 11 years ago and has shipped more than 150 million devices so far. According to market research firm IDC, in the first quarter of this year, Huawei ranked first in the world with a 17.1% share of wrist wearable device shipments. Huawei Sports Health App has 520 million users.

Major global technology companies, including South Korea’s Samsung Electronics (005930), are competing to protect users’ health through wearable devices. Huawei has also developed technology to meet the needs of large-scale customers and now launched a new system.

“TruSense is our great innovation in health and fitness sensor technology and will be at the forefront of technological development in this field,” said Zhang Yu, president of Huawei’s smart wearable and health product line, who attended the event. “It will help users pursue a healthier lifestyle.”

TrueSense focuses its investment on optics, electrical materials and scientific research to improve long-term accuracy and provide faster bio-signal monitoring. It is evaluated that the monitoring accuracy of heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and other aspects has been improved to the highest level in the world, even in various skin colors, wrist sizes, weather conditions, irregular movements and other situations.

In terms of blood oxygen measurement, the speed is 40% faster than before, and the results can be displayed within 15 seconds. The accuracy of blood pressure measurement has also been improved to the level of direct measurement of the forearm. It also has a one-click function that combines 5 sensors and algorithms to present 13 items such as heart rate, pressure, electrocardiogram, cardiovascular risk, and lung risk assessment within 60 seconds.

Huawei’s goal is to use the newly released TrueSense system to provide digital health management solutions to the world. It is believed that Huawei’s multiple wearable devices can be used for more than 100 sports such as running, cycling, swimming, golf, diving, etc., and can meet users’ health management needs such as respiratory health, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, etc.

“In the future, Huawei will strive to stay at the forefront of health and fitness science and enrich users’ lives with more innovations. The first product based on Huawei TrueSense will be available in September this year,” said President Zhang.
