“The accused stated in his confession that his brother had disputes and conflicts with him over drug abuse and unemployment, and that over the years this problem caused him mental breakdown and physical pain,” Col. Hekmatullah Shojai, chief of the Alborz intelligence police, said in the statement. “Due to the escalation of these conflicts, he decided to kill him.”
Colonel Shujaei clarified: The accused continued his statement and stated that one day in the fall of 2017, during a fierce fight with my brother, he used a knife to cut his neck from the front and his back from the back. When he fell to the ground, I suffocated him to death with my own hands and I had to bury my brother’s body on the floor of my villa in the same clothes he wore.
“Six years later, the accused has experienced profound remorse and regrets what he has done and has asked for some reduction in the amount of his conscience by presenting himself to the provincial police and confessing to the murder,” he said.
Finally, the provincial police chief informed that the accused had been handed over to judicial authorities after a case was filed and advised citizens that such incidents could be avoided by mastering anger control skills and avoiding hasty and emotional decisions.
