Four Year 12 graduates from Hope College in Taribori have been selected to work in Australia under the Pacific-Australia Workforce Mobility Program.
This is the first batch of graduates from the academy. Four graduates, Albert Angai, Kingston Arigo, Ison Tomai and Aluako Tako, were among the 28 successful candidates.
These four people were all high school dropouts. After some hard work, they were finally hired by Northern Cooperative Meat Co., Ltd.
They signed a four-year contract with the company last week and will leave Port Moresby for Brisbane, Australia tomorrow (Monday).
Prime Minister James Marape recently met with the four graduates and congratulated them.
He said the Hope Academy has given a second chance to young people in his area who dropped out of ninth and 10th grade and have them graduate with a 12th grade certificate.
The Prime Minister said the Tarifa-Pori region would help students study and work in Australia.
The district will only send 12th graders who have a certificate of character for a pastor.
