Macau Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng today passed Written statement He will not run in the Chief Executive election scheduled for October 13.
In a statement, Ho Hau Wah explained that due to health reasons, he would not seek a second five-year term in the sixth Chief Executive election.
“I have deep feelings for Macau and have done my best for its development,” the incumbent chief executive wrote. “But as my health has not yet fully recovered, for the sake of Macau’s long-term development and the overall situation, I have decided not to run for the sixth chief executive.”

At present, Ho Kwan-yiu’s condition has not been made public.
He expressed his gratitude to the central government, all sectors of Macau society and the general public for their support and trust in him.
