He made his first start and scored the first goal for the Rapids

Youngster Raresh Pope joined Bucharest this summer but has been mostly ignored by Neil Lennon in the Northern Irishman’s six appearances. The UTA footballer played just 60 minutes with Lennon on the bench.

After Shumudikka’s arrival, the youngster immediately received honors and started the first game for the technical staff on the bench of Julesti in his new assignment. Pope did not disappoint either. When he beat Jesus Fernandez on the right wing, Rapid was already 1-0 ahead.

In the 53rd minute, Raresh Pop received a pass from Luka Gojkovic and started a sprint down the right side. The footballer advanced, controlled the ball elegantly, passed his opponent, and then shot from the edge of the penalty area. The ball flew straight to the long corner and flew into the side net, leaving the Spanish goalkeeper no chance.

Pop celebrated his goal in front of the stands, while Marius Umudica breathed a sigh of relief as Iasipoli players pressed towards Piazza Giuleşti at the start of the first half.
