This year, the Vilnius Regional Company mowed more than six kilometers of the river in Panevėžys, a job that must be completed by the end of summer. As a result, the capital of Aukštaitia will celebrate its 521st birthday in September with a clean, well-manicured and beautiful river.
The Vilnius company “Erdvilė” has won the tender for river mowing works announced by the Panevėžys Municipality.
According to Rūta Taučikienė, chief expert at the city’s urban infrastructure department, mowing the lawn in the water starts on Vakarinė Street.
Currently, the amphibious mower is in operation, heading from the Cultural and Leisure Park to the Station Street Bridge.
The planned mowing length is over 6 km.
