P-au-P., June 5, 2024 (AlterPresse) – AlterPresse has learned from consistent sources that the next transitional government could have 13 ministers instead of around 20 as usual.

The decision was the result of discussions between members of the Presidential Transition Council (Cpt) and Prime Minister Garry Conille, who discussed the government profile on 4 June.

Garry Conille believes that in order to achieve this outcome, it will be necessary to merge several ministries during the transition period, according to sources close to Cpt.

Sovereign ministries should form the backbone of the government. These include interior, justice/defense, economy, and foreign affairs.

A formula was also agreed upon for the allocation of portfolios. The Prime Minister must nominate for 4 sovereign ministries and the CPT for the other 9 ministries.

Sources close to the Cpt consulted by AlterPresse stressed that at this stage, all decisions remain subject to political dynamics and are subject to change.

The problems that need to be addressed, particularly armed group violence, are significant. Attacks, systematic destruction and/or arson targeting the population and public and private buildings continue to increase.

According to the Police Protection Office, more than 30 police stations, sub-stations and police sub-stations have been vandalized and burned by armed bandits belonging to a gang alliance called “Viv ansanm” (living together) since the end of February 2024. Citizens.

Gary Cornell spoke from the outset of a non-partisan government that should encourage participation from women, young people and the diaspora.

Furthermore, under the principles of this transition, the government will exclude persons who have been prosecuted or are subject to international sanctions for money laundering or supporting armed groups that terrorize the country.

Public opinion is watching, to say the least, including his own cabinet choices. (April 6, 2024 07:00)
