Haiti – Society: Celebrations for the 354th anniversary of Cap-Haïtien officially begin

The municipal authorities of Cap-Haïtien officially launched the celebrations to mark the 354th anniversary of the city’s founding on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The ceremony was attended by journalists and public figures, including local authorities, representatives of civil society and cultural figures.
The celebrations were kicked off by Ms. Yvrose Pierre, President of the Municipal Council, at a press conference where she presented the main points of the program developed for this special occasion.
“This celebration is not only an opportunity to relive our history, but also to reaffirm our commitment to developing and promoting our cultural heritage and Cap-Haïtien as a tourist destination,” she said.
In fact, the celebrations will last until August 19 and include a series of cultural and artistic events aimed at celebrating the historical richness and cultural diversity of Cap-Haïtien. The main events include exhibitions, dance and music performances, parades, and a visit by a delegation from the city of Arada, Benin, which will participate in these major cultural events.
