Ashraf Zaki, head of the Performing Profession Syndicate, addressed Mustafa Kamel, head of the Music Profession Syndicate, demanding the activation of the role of the trade union federation and the need for legal, moral and administrative cooperation.
The statement added: “This request was made in conjunction with a formal complaint filed by the concert organisers to the Music Profession Syndicate alleging that Haifa Wehbe had breached the agreement to hold the concert on the North Coast on July 19, despite receiving the agreed-upon agreement – causing huge financial losses to the concert organisers. After reviewing the complaint, it became clear that everything the complainant said was true.”
The union statement continued: “The investigations of the Syndicate for Music and Performing Professions and the management and decision of the Legal Affairs Commission are consistent with their decision not to issue any work permit to artist Haifa Wehbe to give artistic concerts or to practice performing profession until the dispute received by both unions has been resolved.”
