Prime Minister Deacon Mitchell will lead a delegation of officials to Carriacou to personally inspect the aftermath of Cyclone Beryl.
Mitchell plans to deliver relief supplies to Carriacou and its sister island, Petite Martinique, according to an announcement from the prime minister’s office.
Impact of Hurricane Beryl
Yesterday, powerful Category 4 Cyclone Beryl struck Carriacou, displacing residents and disrupting basic services.
Prime Minister Mitchell stressed the urgent need for support to aid the devastated Sister Islands.
Citizen-led rescue efforts
In response, the Prime Minister’s Office urged citizens to donate non-perishable food, canned goods, hygiene products, bottled water, and baby and adult diapers.

Donations can be made from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Grenada Yacht Club.
Rescue Operations Coordination
The Carriacou relief effort is led by Sylvan McIntyre, with support from National Disaster Coordinator Dr. Terrence Walters and representatives from the public and private sectors.
Grenada will remain in a state of emergency until July 7, 2024, and authorities advise citizens to take necessary safety precautions.
