Greek Zoi Faki supports Choco Mucho in PVL reinforcement meeting

MANILA, Philippines — Greek outside spiker Zoi Faki will support Choco Mucho in 2024 Pulmonary valve replacement The enhanced meeting will be held on July 16.

The Flying Titans announced on Wednesday that 25-year-old Faki, who has played in the NCAA and Greek club leagues, will become the team’s foreign guest player.

“The wingtips are ready to go! Say hello to Zoi Faki, he has a lot of experience and quality and can give the team a much-needed boost,” wrote Choco Mucho.

Faki strengthens Choco Mucho’s rotation of winger squad, where she will be joined by newcomer Dindin Santiago-Manabat, who was sacked by Akari, and regulars Isa Molde, Royse Tubino, Kat Tolentino, Mean Mendrez and Regine Arocha.

Last year’s All-Filipino League MVP Sisi Rondina and veteran middle blocker Cherry Nunag are still unsure if they will be able to play for the Flying Titans in the mid-season league as they will play for the Philippines in the FIVB Challenger Cup next week and the Southeast Asian V-League in August.

Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin has a powerful and experienced 6-foot-1 hitter who played at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of San Diego and reached the Elite Eight with the Panthers three years ago.

Led by Alin Su Nulin, the Flying Titans made it to two consecutive All-Filipino League finals but lost to sister team Creamline Cool Smashers in both championship series.

Two years have passed since the last enhanced league, and since former coach Oliver Almadro resigned midway through the league, Choco Mucho will compete with a new look. In the last enhanced league, Choco Mucho ranked seventh with a record of 3-5.

At the time, Rodina was still playing beach volleyball for the national team, while Uzbekistan’s Odina Aliyeva was a foreign player for the Titans.

Five teams announced their recruitment lists, Capital1 brought Russian outside spiker Marina Tushova, Creamline pinned hopes on American spiker Erica Staunton, Chery Tiggo had Khat Bell return to the Philippines, while PLDT had former Russian reinforcement Elena Samoilenko return.

Choco Mucho can draft more players with the 11th overall pick and picks in subsequent rounds at the PVL Rookie Draft on July 8 at the Novotel.
