The National Statistics Office said that as of the end of June, total central government debt was 9.9811 billion euros, 810.3 million euros higher than in the same period of 2023.
Figures released today by the NSO also show that the government’s consolidated fund deficit stood at €89.8 million at the end of June.
Compared to the previous year, recurring revenue and total expenses increased by EUR 484 million and EUR 315.2 million, respectively.
The National Statistics Office noted that the increase in recurrent revenues exceeded the increase in expenditure, resulting in a positive change of 168.8 million euros in the Government Consolidated Fund.
The largest increase in revenue was in income tax (€325.6 million), while the largest increase was in programmes and initiatives (€232.7 million) among the expenditure categories.
