The JP2 Foundation will host a concert by the British Priory School Music Group. The group consists of 33 young musicians. They will visit Malta to give concerts in Valletta, Gozo and Marsaxlokk.
The Priory School is a girls’ school located in Reading, England, approximately 50 km west of London.
The school has a vibrant music department, with many girls studying not only music but also singing, piano, strings, woodwinds and brass. Girls are encouraged to participate in group activities such as choirs, orchestras and symphony orchestras.
Young musicians from the school have previously visited Paris and Jersey.
“We are very excited to visit Malta, share our music and learn about Malta’s culture, history and heritage,” said department head Helen Bilkey.
At Muza Valletta, the band will perform in the main entrance courtyard on Friday, July 5 at 2 p.m.
In Gozo, the band will perform at the church square in Gainsilem on Saturday 6th at 7.30pm. Gainsilem Local Council will help organise the event.
In Marsaxlokk, the event will also take place on Sunday 7th at 8:30pm in the church square. Marsaxlokk Local Council will also be taking part in the event.
Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.
