The People’s National Congress for Reform (PNCR) has expressed concern that government is unable or unwilling to state whether ExxonMobil is charging interest on its investment in the Stabroek Block and, if so, what the rate is, and has called on government to clarify the issue for the benefit of the people of Guyana.
In a press release yesterday, the PNCR said it believed that Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo’s unwillingness to fully disclose information on the matter had gone beyond “turning a blind eye” and that it was likely that he himself had no control over the situation and, worse still, “he simply did not care… His disregard for his duties as the PPP’s oil dictator is an infringement on the well-being of every Guyanese.”
