Milena Rangel, Vice Minister for ASEAN Affairs, accompanied by representatives of the Future Leaders of ASEAN (FLBA, by its Tetum acronym), is received by the President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, at the Nicola Lobato Hotel, at the Presidential Palace, May 13, 2024. 
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister presented the FLBA programme launched by the Timor-Leste Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to prepare future leaders for the challenges of ASEAN regional integration. 
President José Ramos-Horta praised the government’s efforts to implement the roadmap to join ASEAN and shared some words of encouragement and inspiration to the young people involved in the programme. 
FLBA programme participants will begin immersion trips to ASEAN countries later this month as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen ties with the region and develop a new generation of capable leaders.
