On Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution prepared by the Ministry of Defense (KAM) that intends to create a park of anti-mobilization measures in the country. KAM said that the first batch of such anti-mobility measures will be put into use on August 22.
According to the government decision, by the end of next year, reserved roadblocks will be set up on important national roads, bridges and nine bridges identified by the army for the installation of explosives. Joint Stock Company “Via Lietuva” will be responsible for this.
It is planned to carry out design and restoration works of about 280 km of ditches and streams to their original technical parameters in the south-western region by the end of 2027. The municipalities of Šakiai, Vilkaviškis and Marijampolė districts will be responsible for this.
It is also planned to create green belts and set up other measures to ensure traffic safety in the road sections determined by the army by December 31, 2027. It is planned to entrust the implementation of these works to the company “Kelios bereža”.
The ministry said that this year the measures will be implemented from the budget of the Ministry of the Interior, with an amount not exceeding 3 million euros. From 2025, funds from the National Defense Fund will be used for anti-mobilization measures.
The Ministry of Finance’s presentation calculated that the initial implementation of anti-liquidity measures could cost 17.56 million euros. L. Kasciūnas said on Monday that anti-liquidity measures would cost 600 million euros over a ten-year period.
