Meteorologist Branko Gregorci said weather forecasts were unreliable throughout the summer, but above-average temperatures and about the same amount of precipitation as usual were expected.
Early next week, the weather will be unsettled again with more frequent showers and storms.
Branko Gregorčič said that meteorological conditions at the beginning of the summer in Slovenia were quite normal, but precipitation was above average.

Although it was far less hot than the “high summer” in April, temperature conditions at the beginning of the meteorological summer in Slovenia were normal, but precipitation was below average, said Branko Gregorčič, a meteorologist at the Slovenian Environment Agency.
Warm weather this weekend
As he predicted, the temperatures will indeed be slightly above average this weekend, but there will be no extreme heat. “The maximum temperature in Gorenjska is expected to be between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius. There will be isolated storms late in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday.” But at the beginning of next week, it predicts unsettled weather again, with more frequent showers and storms. “The temperature will drop by about five degrees, so it will mostly be below 25 degrees.”
Given that the weather in early June was more like spring than summer, we also asked the respondent what kind of summer he expected. “Unfortunately, summer forecasts are not reliable, but they promise above-average temperatures and relatively average precipitation,” he replied.
Ocean and lake temperatures
Let’s take a look at the temperatures of the sea and lakes. Currently, the sea temperature along our coast is about 23 degrees Celsius, which, according to Gregorčič, is above average for this time, as it is two to three degrees warmer. “The air temperature in Lake Bled fluctuates between 19 and 21 degrees, which is slightly above average, and the temperature in Lake Bohinj fluctuates between 12 and 16 degrees, which is close to the average for the beginning of June,” Gregorčič explains.
