General Motors has announced that it will lay off 76,000 employees in the same field worldwide, mainly in the United States, with the majority of the layoffs (about 600 employees) taking place at the company’s technical center in Michigan.
A company spokesperson told US media, “As we build GM’s future, we must simplify with speed and excellence, make bold decisions, and prioritize investments for the greatest impact. As a result, we are reducing some of our prisoners in the Software and Services organization and thanking those who have helped build a solid foundation to position GM for the future.”
