Angela Tabiri, a young Ghanaian mathematician known as the “Queen of Mathematics”, has been named the most interesting mathematician in the world. She won the title at the Internet Mathematics Contest, a famous American mathematics competition held from July 1 to July 24.

Tabiri’s love for mathematics began in Accra, where she enjoyed solving problems as a child. Despite the challenges and stereotypes she faced in the male-dominated field of mathematics, she remained steadfast and continued to pursue her passion.

She graduated from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Ghana in 2014. For her studies, she enrolled at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and was awarded the Schlumberger Foundation Future Faculty Scholarship in 2015. This helped her pursue a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Glasgow.

Today, Angela Tabiri’s achievements are recognized around the world, inspiring others and breaking barriers in mathematics.
