Requires Gevorg Mazpetuni
Residents near the villages of the Sevan region (Chkalovka, Norashen and Tsovagyugh) no longer consider Sevan to be theirs; they say that Sevan belongs to the entourage of the President of Armenia.
Rubik remembers that after Sargsyan became president in 2008, intensive construction covering an area of 5,000 square meters began on the shore of Zovaju Village. Alik Sargsyan also received an area of land for site development, albeit smaller – only 1,000 square meters. “Sevan has been occupied and a new Gevorg Marzpetuni is needed to return the occupied territory,” Mr Vardan said. In fact, site development on the Sevan coast has been ongoing since the reign of Kocharyan.
