Last month, Customs officers carried out 7,513 detailed checks on vehicles and cargo, during which 42 violations were detected and 51 misdemeanour instructions were issued, with fines totaling 47,550 euros, the announcement said.
The Customs Administration noted that the seized goods were worth 60,561.74 euros.
“In the structure of smuggled goods, excise products, clothing, perfumes, auto parts, mobile phone parts, photographic equipment, food, tattoo equipment, jewelry, watches, tools, hardware dominate…” they said in the announcement.
They concluded that the Customs Service continued to carry out focused and indiscriminate activities within its jurisdiction.
