Four months ago, their family relations began to break down.
It’s been nearly four months since reporters last saw Jennifer Garner and her husband John Miller together, with sources saying the couple’s relationship was on hold following Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The Batman star has been spending more time with his ex-wife lately, and insiders say it’s no coincidence that Garner’s relationship with her husband of six years has also begun to deteriorate. Lopez and Affleck reportedly split in April but were unable to resolve financial issues.
The former couple have remained extremely close since officially filing for divorce in 2015. In 2018, Garner supported Affleck during his battle with alcohol addiction and served as a supportive figure for him during the breakdown of his marriage to Lopez.
As a result, after the news of the divorce broke, Ben moved out of the house he had purchased with his still-legal wife and moved closer to his ex-wife so he could spend more time with his children.
“Ben has been looking to Jen for advice and support, and this has become a major source of annoyance for John. He doesn’t like competing with his ex for her attention,” the source revealed.
Meanwhile, Miller tried to be understanding, but eventually his patience wore thin. Garner explained her close relationship with Affleck as a way to prevent him from spiraling into alcoholism and to shield the children from the devastation of their father’s divorce.
