Following a report by the Minister of Mines, the Council of Ministers approved a draft decree granting the Malian Company for Research and Development of Mineral Resources (SOREM MALI-SA) a license for gold exploration in the area around NTahaka, in the NTillit circle of the High Region.
The mission of the Mali Mineral Resources Research and Exploitation Company is to research, mine, process and sell minerals within the scope of the grant.
According to the request, SOREM MALI-SA requested on July 31, 2024, a license to explore for gold in the area surrounding NTahaka (97.41 square kilometers).
Geological and mining studies conducted in the Gurma Oriental geological district have enabled several areas of potential interest to be highlighted, including NTahaka.
The draft decree passed will allow the Mali Mineral Resources Research and Exploitation Company to continue its research work with the aim of discovering economically exploitable mineral deposits.
