Libreville, Saturday, July 20, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The second Central Africa and Great Lakes Conference of Rectors (C2R ACGL) took place in Libreville from July 18 to 19. Strengthening cooperation was at the heart of this annual meeting of member universities of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
Opening the conference, Professor Slim Halbus, Vice-Chancellor of Africa University, urged participants to implement their various proposals for the establishment of a university that truly serves the transformation of African societies.
The conference lasted two days and participants from ten (10) countries discussed the industry’s problems and provided concrete solutions.
This work focuses on priority themes for the region, including mobility, research and publishing, employment and entrepreneurship, quality assurance, governance and ethics, mediation, conflict management and peace, and digital transformation.
In addition to the main mission of the University, this Libreville meeting aims to develop the AUF strategy for the period 2025-2029. Given in July 2023 in Kinshasa (DRC), this first edition lays the foundations for the C2R ACGL by establishing a system of dialogue, consultation and exchange between the highest university authorities in the region.
Let us remember that the Central African and Great Lakes Principals’ Conference was a special moment to strengthen the network of African Union members and unite them around youth priority actions.
