Pago Pago, American Samoa— Funkfit American Samoa hosted its second internal competition, Independence Day Trios, in 2024. The event featured five trios teams, each consisting of two women and one man, competing in a half-day sports competition consisting of three events.
The competition was a showcase of the athletes’ endurance, stamina and strength as they demonstrated determination in rowing, courage in the clean and jerk and endurance on the sandbag.
The Uce Vibes team won the championship with excellent results in three events and became the well-deserved champion. The Talk Burpee to Me team followed closely behind, winning the second place; the Coke Zero team won the third place; the Mix & Match team won the fourth place; and the Pursuit of Greatness team won the fifth place. It is worth noting that there were several first-time contestants in this competition, including high school students, which added color to the competition.
The FunkFit American Samoa coaches are proud of the success of the competition and would like to thank the athletes, volunteers, judges, and event organizers. They are also excited to announce that more in-house competitions will be held before the end of the year, which is a great opportunity for individuals interested in participating in FunkFit American Samoa classes or future competitions.
